Volumetric flow
Convert US gallon per minute (US gpm) to cubic metre per hour (m³/h). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 US gpm = 0.2271247 m³/h
To convert US gallon per minute to cubic metre per hour, multiply the US gpm value by 0.2271247. To go the other way, divide by 0.2271247 (or multiply by 4.402868).
| US gpm | m³/h |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.2271247 |
| 2 | 0.4542494 |
| 5 | 1.135624 |
| 10 | 2.271247 |
| 25 | 5.678118 |
| 50 | 11.35624 |
| 100 | 22.71247 |
| 250 | 56.78118 |
| 500 | 113.5624 |
| 1000 | 227.1247 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 15850.32 US gpm is 3600 m³/h.
Multiply the value in US gpm by 0.2271247 to get m³/h. For example, 10 US gpm = 2.271247 m³/h.
1 US gpm equals 0.2271247 m³/h.
