Volumetric flow
Convert cubic metre per second (m³/s) to US gallon per minute (US gpm). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 m³/s = 15850.32 US gpm
To convert cubic metre per second to US gallon per minute, multiply the m³/s value by 15850.32. To go the other way, divide by 15850.32 (or multiply by 6.309e-5).
| m³/s | US gpm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 15850.32 |
| 2 | 31700.65 |
| 5 | 79251.62 |
| 10 | 158503.2 |
| 25 | 396258.1 |
| 50 | 792516.2 |
| 100 | 1585032 |
| 250 | 3962581 |
| 500 | 7925162 |
| 1000 | 1.585e+7 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 1 m³/s is 15850.32 US gpm.
Multiply the value in m³/s by 15850.32 to get US gpm. For example, 10 m³/s = 158503.2 US gpm.
1 m³/s equals 15850.32 US gpm.
