Volumetric flow
Convert US gallon per minute (US gpm) to oil barrel per day (bbl/day). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 US gpm = 34.28571 bbl/day
To convert US gallon per minute to oil barrel per day, multiply the US gpm value by 34.28571. To go the other way, divide by 34.28571 (or multiply by 0.02916667).
| US gpm | bbl/day |
|---|---|
| 1 | 34.28571 |
| 2 | 68.57143 |
| 5 | 171.4286 |
| 10 | 342.8571 |
| 25 | 857.1429 |
| 50 | 1714.286 |
| 100 | 3428.571 |
| 250 | 8571.429 |
| 500 | 17142.86 |
| 1000 | 34285.71 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 15850.32 US gpm is 543439.7 bbl/day.
Multiply the value in US gpm by 34.28571 to get bbl/day. For example, 10 US gpm = 342.8571 bbl/day.
1 US gpm equals 34.28571 bbl/day.
