Length
Convert millimetre (mm) to centimetre (cm). Length units span pipe diameters (mm, inch), plant dimensions (m, ft), and roughness (µm) — mixing metric and imperial is routine.
1 mm = 0.1 cm
To convert millimetre to centimetre, multiply the mm value by 0.1. To go the other way, divide by 0.1 (or multiply by 10).
| mm | cm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.1 |
| 2 | 0.2 |
| 5 | 0.5 |
| 10 | 1 |
| 25 | 2.5 |
| 50 | 5 |
| 100 | 10 |
| 250 | 25 |
| 500 | 50 |
| 1000 | 100 |
Pipe sizes are labelled in inches (NPS) but calculated in mm; equipment layouts mix metres and feet.
Velocity scales with the inverse square of diameter, so a small length error compounds quickly in flow calculations.
Worked example. A length of 100 mm is 10 cm.
Multiply the value in mm by 0.1 to get cm. For example, 10 mm = 1 cm.
1 mm equals 0.1 cm.
