Length
Convert centimetre (cm) to metre (m). Length units span pipe diameters (mm, inch), plant dimensions (m, ft), and roughness (µm) — mixing metric and imperial is routine.
1 cm = 0.01 m
To convert centimetre to metre, multiply the cm value by 0.01. To go the other way, divide by 0.01 (or multiply by 100).
| cm | m |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.01 |
| 2 | 0.02 |
| 5 | 0.05 |
| 10 | 0.1 |
| 25 | 0.25 |
| 50 | 0.5 |
| 100 | 1 |
| 250 | 2.5 |
| 500 | 5 |
| 1000 | 10 |
Pipe sizes are labelled in inches (NPS) but calculated in mm; equipment layouts mix metres and feet.
Velocity scales with the inverse square of diameter, so a small length error compounds quickly in flow calculations.
Worked example. A length of 10 cm is 0.1 m.
Multiply the value in cm by 0.01 to get m. For example, 10 cm = 0.1 m.
1 cm equals 0.01 m.
