Length
Convert centimetre (cm) to millimetre (mm). Length units span pipe diameters (mm, inch), plant dimensions (m, ft), and roughness (µm) — mixing metric and imperial is routine.
1 cm = 10 mm
To convert centimetre to millimetre, multiply the cm value by 10. To go the other way, divide by 10 (or multiply by 0.1).
| cm | mm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 10 |
| 2 | 20 |
| 5 | 50 |
| 10 | 100 |
| 25 | 250 |
| 50 | 500 |
| 100 | 1000 |
| 250 | 2500 |
| 500 | 5000 |
| 1000 | 10000 |
Pipe sizes are labelled in inches (NPS) but calculated in mm; equipment layouts mix metres and feet.
Velocity scales with the inverse square of diameter, so a small length error compounds quickly in flow calculations.
Worked example. A length of 10 cm is 100 mm.
Multiply the value in cm by 10 to get mm. For example, 10 cm = 100 mm.
1 cm equals 10 mm.
