Volumetric flow
Convert cubic metre per hour (m³/h) to cubic foot per second (ft³/s). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 m³/h = 0.00980963 ft³/s
To convert cubic metre per hour to cubic foot per second, multiply the m³/h value by 0.00980963. To go the other way, divide by 0.00980963 (or multiply by 101.9406).
| m³/h | ft³/s |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.00980963 |
| 2 | 0.01961926 |
| 5 | 0.04904815 |
| 10 | 0.0980963 |
| 25 | 0.2452407 |
| 50 | 0.4904815 |
| 100 | 0.980963 |
| 250 | 2.452407 |
| 500 | 4.904815 |
| 1000 | 9.80963 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 3600 m³/h is 35.31467 ft³/s.
Multiply the value in m³/h by 0.00980963 to get ft³/s. For example, 10 m³/h = 0.0980963 ft³/s.
1 m³/h equals 0.00980963 ft³/s.
