Mass flow
Convert pound per hour (lb/h) to gram per second (g/s). Mass flow rate is the mass passing a point per unit time — the conserved quantity in a material balance, independent of temperature and pressure.

Relief loads and heat duties depend on mass flow, not volumetric flow — keep the two straight when a stream's density changes.
Worked example. A mass flow rate of 22046.23 lb/h is 2777.778 g/s.
Multiply the value in lb/h by 0.1259979 to get g/s. For example, 10 lb/h = 1.259979 g/s.
1 lb/h equals 0.1259979 g/s.
