Volumetric flow
Convert litre per hour (L/h) to US gallon per minute (US gpm). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 L/h = 0.004402868 US gpm
To convert litre per hour to US gallon per minute, multiply the L/h value by 0.004402868. To go the other way, divide by 0.004402868 (or multiply by 227.1247).
| L/h | US gpm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.004402868 |
| 2 | 0.008805735 |
| 5 | 0.02201434 |
| 10 | 0.04402868 |
| 25 | 0.1100717 |
| 50 | 0.2201434 |
| 100 | 0.4402868 |
| 250 | 1.100717 |
| 500 | 2.201434 |
| 1000 | 4.402868 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 3600000 L/h is 15850.32 US gpm.
Multiply the value in L/h by 0.004402868 to get US gpm. For example, 10 L/h = 0.04402868 US gpm.
1 L/h equals 0.004402868 US gpm.
