Mass flow
Convert thousand pounds per hour (klb/h) to pound per hour (lb/h). Mass flow rate is the mass passing a point per unit time — the conserved quantity in a material balance, independent of temperature and pressure.
1 klb/h = 1000 lb/h
To convert thousand pounds per hour to pound per hour, multiply the klb/h value by 1000. To go the other way, divide by 1000 (or multiply by 0.001).

Relief loads and heat duties depend on mass flow, not volumetric flow — keep the two straight when a stream's density changes.
Worked example. A mass flow rate of 22.04623 klb/h is 22046.23 lb/h.
Multiply the value in klb/h by 1000 to get lb/h. For example, 10 klb/h = 10000 lb/h.
1 klb/h equals 1000 lb/h.
