Volumetric flow
Convert oil barrel per day (bbl/day) to litre per minute (L/min). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 bbl/day = 0.1104078 L/min
To convert oil barrel per day to litre per minute, multiply the bbl/day value by 0.1104078. To go the other way, divide by 0.1104078 (or multiply by 9.057328).
| bbl/day | L/min |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.1104078 |
| 2 | 0.2208157 |
| 5 | 0.5520392 |
| 10 | 1.104078 |
| 25 | 2.760196 |
| 50 | 5.520392 |
| 100 | 11.04078 |
| 250 | 27.60196 |
| 500 | 55.20392 |
| 1000 | 110.4078 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 543439.7 bbl/day is 60000 L/min.
Multiply the value in bbl/day by 0.1104078 to get L/min. For example, 10 bbl/day = 1.104078 L/min.
1 bbl/day equals 0.1104078 L/min.
