Power
Convert watt (W) to kilowatt (kW). Power is energy per unit time — the rating of pumps, compressors, motors, and heat duties.
1 W = 0.001 kW
To convert watt to kilowatt, multiply the W value by 0.001. To go the other way, divide by 0.001 (or multiply by 1000).

Rotating-equipment duties are quoted in kW or hp; heat duties in kW, MW, or BTU/hr.
Electrical input, shaft power, and hydraulic power differ by the efficiencies between them — label which one a number refers to.
Worked example. A power of 100000 W is 100 kW.
Multiply the value in W by 0.001 to get kW. For example, 10 W = 0.01 kW.
1 W equals 0.001 kW.
