Power
Convert megawatt (MW) to kilowatt (kW). Power is energy per unit time — the rating of pumps, compressors, motors, and heat duties.
1 MW = 1000 kW
To convert megawatt to kilowatt, multiply the MW value by 1000. To go the other way, divide by 1000 (or multiply by 0.001).

Rotating-equipment duties are quoted in kW or hp; heat duties in kW, MW, or BTU/hr.
Electrical input, shaft power, and hydraulic power differ by the efficiencies between them — label which one a number refers to.
Worked example. A power of 0.1 MW is 100 kW.
Multiply the value in MW by 1000 to get kW. For example, 10 MW = 10000 kW.
1 MW equals 1000 kW.
