Volumetric flow
Convert US gallon per hour (US gph) to US gallon per minute (US gpm). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 US gph = 0.01666667 US gpm
To convert US gallon per hour to US gallon per minute, multiply the US gph value by 0.01666667. To go the other way, divide by 0.01666667 (or multiply by 60).
| US gph | US gpm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.01666667 |
| 2 | 0.03333333 |
| 5 | 0.08333334 |
| 10 | 0.1666667 |
| 25 | 0.4166667 |
| 50 | 0.8333334 |
| 100 | 1.666667 |
| 250 | 4.166667 |
| 500 | 8.333334 |
| 1000 | 16.66667 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 951019.4 US gph is 15850.32 US gpm.
Multiply the value in US gph by 0.01666667 to get US gpm. For example, 10 US gph = 0.1666667 US gpm.
1 US gph equals 0.01666667 US gpm.
