Mass flow
Convert tonne per hour (t/h) to kilogram per hour (kg/h). Mass flow rate is the mass passing a point per unit time — the conserved quantity in a material balance, independent of temperature and pressure.
1 t/h = 1000 kg/h
To convert tonne per hour to kilogram per hour, multiply the t/h value by 1000. To go the other way, divide by 1000 (or multiply by 0.001).

Material and energy balances are written on a mass basis, so plant flows convert between kg/h, t/h, and lb/h constantly.
Relief loads and heat duties depend on mass flow, not volumetric flow — keep the two straight when a stream's density changes.
Worked example. A mass flow rate of 10 t/h is 10000 kg/h.
Multiply the value in t/h by 1000 to get kg/h. For example, 10 t/h = 10000 kg/h.
1 t/h equals 1000 kg/h.
