Velocity
Convert mile per hour (mph) to foot per second (ft/s). Velocity is distance per unit time — the line-sizing quantity that flags erosion, noise, and pressure drop.
1 mph = 1.466667 ft/s
To convert mile per hour to foot per second, multiply the mph value by 1.466667. To go the other way, divide by 1.466667 (or multiply by 0.6818182).

Multiply the value in mph by 1.466667 to get ft/s. For example, 10 mph = 14.66667 ft/s.
