Velocity
Convert foot per second (ft/s) to metre per second (m/s). Velocity is distance per unit time — the line-sizing quantity that flags erosion, noise, and pressure drop.
1 ft/s = 0.3048 m/s
To convert foot per second to metre per second, multiply the ft/s value by 0.3048. To go the other way, divide by 0.3048 (or multiply by 3.28084).

High velocity means high friction loss and erosion risk; low velocity risks settling in slurry lines.
Worked example. A velocity of 6.56168 ft/s is 2 m/s.
Multiply the value in ft/s by 0.3048 to get m/s. For example, 10 ft/s = 3.048 m/s.
