Area
Convert square metre (m²) to square millimetre (mm²). Area sets heat-transfer surface, flow cross-sections, and footprints, in m² or ft².
1 m² = 1000000 mm²
To convert square metre to square millimetre, multiply the m² value by 1000000. To go the other way, divide by 1000000 (or multiply by 1e-6).
| m² | mm² |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1000000 |
| 2 | 2000000 |
| 5 | 5000000 |
| 10 | 1e+7 |
| 25 | 2.5e+7 |
| 50 | 5e+7 |
| 100 | 1e+8 |
| 250 | 2.5e+8 |
| 500 | 5e+8 |
| 1000 | 1e+9 |
Exchanger surface is quoted in m² or ft²; orifice and nozzle areas in mm² or in².
Flow area scales with the square of diameter, so doubling a pipe's bore quadruples its area.
Worked example. A area of 10 m² is 1e+7 mm².
Multiply the value in m² by 1000000 to get mm². For example, 10 m² = 1e+7 mm².
1 m² equals 1000000 mm².
Exchanger surface is quoted in m² or ft²; orifice and nozzle areas in mm² or in².
