Volumetric flow
Convert litre per second (L/s) to litre per minute (L/min). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 L/s = 60 L/min
To convert litre per second to litre per minute, multiply the L/s value by 60. To go the other way, divide by 60 (or multiply by 0.01666667).
| L/s | L/min |
|---|---|
| 1 | 60 |
| 2 | 120 |
| 5 | 300 |
| 10 | 600 |
| 25 | 1500 |
| 50 | 3000 |
| 100 | 6000 |
| 250 | 15000 |
| 500 | 30000 |
| 1000 | 60000 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 1000 L/s is 60000 L/min.
Multiply the value in L/s by 60 to get L/min. For example, 10 L/s = 600 L/min.
1 L/s equals 60 L/min.
