Volumetric flow
Convert litre per minute (L/min) to cubic foot per second (ft³/s). Volumetric flow rate is the volume of fluid passing a point per unit time — the basis for line sizing, pump duty, and instrument ranging.
1 L/min = 0.0005885778 ft³/s
To convert litre per minute to cubic foot per second, multiply the L/min value by 0.0005885778. To go the other way, divide by 0.0005885778 (or multiply by 1699.011).
| L/min | ft³/s |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.0005885778 |
| 2 | 0.001177156 |
| 5 | 0.002942889 |
| 10 | 0.005885778 |
| 25 | 0.01471444 |
| 50 | 0.02942889 |
| 100 | 0.05885778 |
| 250 | 0.1471444 |
| 500 | 0.2942889 |
| 1000 | 0.5885778 |
Pump and line duties are quoted in m³/h or US gpm; instrument and utility flows often in L/min or ft³/s.
Volumetric flow depends on temperature and pressure for gases — convert on the same basis (actual vs standard) to avoid errors.
Worked example. A flow rate of 60000 L/min is 35.31467 ft³/s.
Multiply the value in L/min by 0.0005885778 to get ft³/s. For example, 10 L/min = 0.005885778 ft³/s.
1 L/min equals 0.0005885778 ft³/s.
