Velocity
Convert foot per minute (ft/min) to foot per second (ft/s). Velocity is distance per unit time — the line-sizing quantity that flags erosion, noise, and pressure drop.
1 ft/min = 0.01666667 ft/s
To convert foot per minute to foot per second, multiply the ft/min value by 0.01666667. To go the other way, divide by 0.01666667 (or multiply by 60).

High velocity means high friction loss and erosion risk; low velocity risks settling in slurry lines.
Worked example. A velocity of 393.7008 ft/min is 6.56168 ft/s.
Multiply the value in ft/min by 0.01666667 to get ft/s. For example, 10 ft/min = 0.1666667 ft/s.
1 ft/min equals 0.01666667 ft/s.
