Energy
Convert therm (therm) to British thermal unit (BTU). Energy is the capacity to do work or transfer heat — the currency of every heat and material balance.
1 therm = 100000 BTU
To convert therm to British thermal unit, multiply the therm value by 100000. To go the other way, divide by 100000 (or multiply by 1e-5).

Heat duties integrate to energy in kJ, MJ, or BTU; utilities are billed in kWh or MMBTU.
A calorie, a BTU, and a joule are all energy — keep the conversion factors handy when a spec mixes them.
Worked example. A energy of 0.03412142 therm is 3412.142 BTU.
Multiply the value in therm by 100000 to get BTU. For example, 10 therm = 1000000 BTU.
1 therm equals 100000 BTU.
