Energy
Convert million BTU (MMBTU) to therm (therm). Energy is the capacity to do work or transfer heat — the currency of every heat and material balance.
1 MMBTU = 10 therm
To convert million BTU to therm, multiply the MMBTU value by 10. To go the other way, divide by 10 (or multiply by 0.1).
| MMBTU | therm |
|---|---|
| 1 | 10 |
| 2 | 20 |
| 5 | 50 |
| 10 | 100 |
| 25 | 250 |
| 50 | 500 |
| 100 | 1000 |
| 250 | 2500 |
| 500 | 5000 |
| 1000 | 10000 |
Heat duties integrate to energy in kJ, MJ, or BTU; utilities are billed in kWh or MMBTU.
A calorie, a BTU, and a joule are all energy — keep the conversion factors handy when a spec mixes them.
Worked example. A energy of 0.003412142 MMBTU is 0.03412142 therm.
Multiply the value in MMBTU by 10 to get therm. For example, 10 MMBTU = 100 therm.
1 MMBTU equals 10 therm.
