Energy
Convert million BTU (MMBTU) to British thermal unit (BTU). Energy is the capacity to do work or transfer heat — the currency of every heat and material balance.
1 MMBTU = 1000000 BTU
To convert million BTU to British thermal unit, multiply the MMBTU value by 1000000. To go the other way, divide by 1000000 (or multiply by 1e-6).
| MMBTU | BTU |
|---|---|
| 1 | 1000000 |
| 2 | 2000000 |
| 5 | 5000000 |
| 10 | 1e+7 |
| 25 | 2.5e+7 |
| 50 | 5e+7 |
| 100 | 1e+8 |
| 250 | 2.5e+8 |
| 500 | 5e+8 |
| 1000 | 1e+9 |
Heat duties integrate to energy in kJ, MJ, or BTU; utilities are billed in kWh or MMBTU.
A calorie, a BTU, and a joule are all energy — keep the conversion factors handy when a spec mixes them.
Worked example. A energy of 0.003412142 MMBTU is 3412.142 BTU.
Multiply the value in MMBTU by 1000000 to get BTU. For example, 10 MMBTU = 1e+7 BTU.
1 MMBTU equals 1000000 BTU.
