Energy
Convert kilowatt-hour (kWh) to megajoule (MJ). Energy is the capacity to do work or transfer heat — the currency of every heat and material balance.
1 kWh = 3.6 MJ
To convert kilowatt-hour to megajoule, multiply the kWh value by 3.6. To go the other way, divide by 3.6 (or multiply by 0.2777778).

Heat duties integrate to energy in kJ, MJ, or BTU; utilities are billed in kWh or MMBTU.
A calorie, a BTU, and a joule are all energy — keep the conversion factors handy when a spec mixes them.
Worked example. A energy of 1 kWh is 3.6 MJ.
Multiply the value in kWh by 3.6 to get MJ. For example, 10 kWh = 36 MJ.
