Convert calorie (cal) to kilojoule (kJ). Energy is the capacity to do work or transfer heat — the currency of every heat and material balance.

To convert calorie to kilojoule, multiply the cal value by 0.004184. To go the other way, divide by 0.004184 (or multiply by 239.0057).
